Instructions for Legislative Assignment 1.Choose a member from the Illinois State Legislature (House or Senate.) Understand the member's biography, committee assignments, district they represent (Geographic Region, include major cities, towns, and relevant demographic information of the area.) 2. Choose a piece of legislation you have an interest in and write a summary of what the legislation means to accomplish. You Summary should include: Title of the bill, Sponsor of the legislation, Legislative history, current status of the bill. Do you agree or disagree with the bill's intent. Would you vote for or against the piece of legislation, or would you amend. Explain reasons for which ever position you take.
This will be part of a class discussion where each student will present his/her information. This information will also be used for purposes of review for Exams and quizzes.
